Garden Update: First Harvest!

Last weekend, we pulled the first harvest of our growing season! It was pretty exciting since we're veggie garden n00bs!

We had planted French Breakfast Radishes just about a month ago and they were just begging to be picked.

It looks like a huge haul in photos, but they're actually so small that once you cut off the leaves, there's not too much left. We've already replanted so we're ready to go again for next month.

I found a tasty recipe online and decided to give it a try. It was very simple and came out quite tasty. If you want to give it a try, here's a quick list:

1/4 lb French Breakfast Radishes
1 tbsp butter or margarine
1 tbsp olive oil
sea salt (to taste)
fresh cilantro clippings

Thinly slice the radishes, lengthwise. Then, use your kitchen shears to snip the cilantro. Next, you simply sauté the radishes with the oil and butter. Add sea salt to taste. Cook until the radishes are slightly translucent. Remove from heat and add the cilantro.

Makes a delicious snack or side dish!

  1. Those look tasty! I really want to plant some radishes, but I dont think i'll get around to starting a garden this year.

  2. there's nothing better tasting than something you grew in your garden. Great photos too. Hugs
